Faith vs feeling

Sometimes things don't (quite) go according to plan and there are times when there's not a whole lot you can do about it, except for the attitude you choose to have in spite of it. During these times it is important to remember that it is our faith rather than our feelings that move God to come to our rescue.

I agree with that, however as an emotional being and a woman to top it off, sometimes to get past the emotion takes awhile.

Thankfully no one is more patient than God, but as much as He wants to help us He also wants to see us grow toward maturity in our character. As long as we are committed to take those steps one at a time we are moving toward the abundant life that God wants us to experience.

God is not looking for perfection; someone who never struggles with feelings. He is looking for the heart that is willing to - with His help - rise above the feelings into faith. A heart that says "it isn't easy but it. is. POSSIBLE" because I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. He is looking for the heart that seeks to please Him because of love, and without faith it is impossible to please the Lord.

His Spirit works in us to help us want to do what we should, and then He helps us to do it. So here's to choosing to rise above :)
